Precautions for Cemented Carbide Sheet

Tungsten carbide steel because of its high hardness and brittleness, no matter in the use, handling, when to stop knocking or throwing fall is easy to produce safety accidents, will cause injury to the person as well as property damage, in order to prevent such unnecessary losses. We suggest that all customers should pay great attention to the precautions of tungsten carbide when using tungsten steel, and the specific precautions are as follows:
TUNGSTEN
1. When cutting and grinding:

Tungsten steel is prone to cracking and chipping under impact and excessive load, and tungsten carbide must be firmly fixed on the worktable before proceeding.

Tungsten steel has very low magnetism and non-magnetic tungsten carbide has no magnetism at all. Do not use magnets to fix the tungsten carbide, but use jigs and fixtures to fix it, and make sure the workpiece is not loose beforehand, and if it is, fix the workpiece firmly.

The surface of tungsten steel will be very smooth after cutting and grinding, and the corners are very sharp, so please pay attention to safety when handling and using.

Cemented carbide is a very hard and brittle material, afraid of impact, it is strictly prohibited to hit the carbide with a metal hammer.

2. When dischargin/products/g and wire cutting:

Tungsten steel has high hardness and wear resistance, so the process will be slower when discharging and wire cutting.

The surface of tungsten steel is most likely to be cracked and chipped after discharge, so please adjust the program according to the premise of the product.

C. Tungsten steel is often cracked during wire cutting, so please make sure that the surface is free of defects before proceeding to the next step of the process.

3. When fusing:

Please select the appropriate welding/fusion program by request.

The tungsten steel is prone to cracks when welding, so please make sure that there is no damage to the surface before proceeding to the next process.

When the fugitive material (fusion iron) generated during the fusion welding process adheres to the tungsten carbide, the alloy may crack due to rapid heating and cooling, so please be especially careful when performing the fusion welding process.

4. When performing HIT treatment:

When piercing or tapping on the filler (dispersed bond), the filler may shake or the carbide may crack, so please strengthen the inspection and make sure there is no abnormality after the work.

Second, when doing all the work: Please use all the safety devices on the machine when doing the work. Staff must wear a good maintenance of eyes, hands, feet, head and all parts of the body safety equipment.
