YG20 is a kind of cemented carbide, specifically tungsten carbide. It does not undergo heat treatment, has uniform internal and external hardness, and is suitable for mass production.
YG20 is suitable for making stamping molds, such as stamping watch parts, musical instrument spring sheets, etc., as well as stamping molds for battery cases, toothpaste skins, etc. Its chemical composition includes wc (80%) and co° (20%), with an average particle size of 1.8. The density of YG20 is between 13.4 and 13.8, the flexural strength is about 3100Mpa, and the hardness range is between about 85 and 87HRA.
The performance characteristics of YG20 tungsten carbide are carbide welding inserts with a hardness equivalent to 69 to 81HRC. Compared with high-speed steel, the cutting speed of carbide tools can be increased by 4 to 7 times, and the tool life can be 5 to 80 times that of high-speed steel. In addition, the service life of carbide molds is 20 to 150 times longer than that of alloy tool steel, and it can cut hard materials of about 50HRC. However, due to the high brittleness of cemented carbide, it is not suitable for cutting. Blades are usually made into different shapes and installed on the cutter body or mold body through welding, bonding or mechanical clamping.
