The function of cemented carbide forming agent

(1) Bond the fine powder particles into slightly coarser particles to improve the fluidity of the powder and improve the compact density distribution
uniformity.
(2) Give the briquette the necessary strength. Carbide  materials produce almost no plastic deformation, and the strength of the compact is mainly given by the molding agent. Some special molding processes, such as extrusion and injection molding, also require a molding agent to turn the powder into a plastic body before molding.

(3) The non-absorbent molding agent can protect the powder and greatly slow down or prevent its oxidation.

(1) Have good viscosity but low viscosity.

(2) Can be dissolved in appropriate solvents.

(3) Does not react chemically with alloy components.
